About Curtis Stokes & Associates.

Curtis Stokes was born in Lewes, Delaware, and grew up in nearby Rehoboth Beach and in St. Michaels, Maryland, on the water — fishing, sailing and hunting up and down the East Coast and in the Bahamas — before moving to Fort Lauderdale in 1992.

While at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, he took his real estate license and joined his father's firm, Anderson-Stokes Realtors. He became its president after his father's death and led it through its expansion to 20 offices and into insurance, advertising and development. The company was sold in 1991, and Curtis made yachting his career.

That career runs from a 75′ Trumpy to a 180′ Feadship, two and a half circumnavigations and half a dozen Atlantic crossings, aboard yachts such as Excellence, Fiffanella, Our Toy, Moecca, Renegade, Kisses and Huntress. He was sales manager at Hatteras Yachts in New Bern, North Carolina, developing and selling new models and training the dealer network; then for six years a consistently top-producing broker with The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals.

He founded his own yacht sales and charter firm on September 1, 2009, and it took off from the start — even in a recession. In his career Curtis has sold virtually every type and size of yacht and boat.
