Bayliner boats from our own listings first, then the wider market.
Bayliner started in Seattle, where Orin Edson sold the first Bayliner boat in 1957. Selling boats as a package with a motor and trailer helped the brand catch on. Brunswick Corporation bought Bayliner in 1986, and sales peaked two years later at 60,000 boats. Bayliner is still a Brunswick brand, now headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Bayliner once built much larger boats, including cruisers and pilothouse motoryachts such as the 4588 Pilot House, built from 1984 to 1993, and the 4788 that replaced it in 1994. In 2002 Brunswick moved the motoryacht line, roughly everything over 34 feet, to a new brand called Meridian. Today Bayliner builds family bowriders, deck boats and center consoles, plus Trophy fishing boats that include cabin models from 23 to 29 feet.
