About Marine Trader

Marine Trader trawlers are well known in the trawler world. They were built in Taiwan and sold in the United States from the early 1970s by Marine Trading International of Toms River, New Jersey. Several Taiwan yards built different models. The best known, the 34 Double Cabin, came from CHB and stayed in production from 1972 to 2001, and the range ran from 34 to 56 feet.

Their teak-rich interiors and well-thought-out deck plans are often admired. The smaller double cabins typically had a single Lehman diesel and cruised at 7 to 8 knots, while twin engines were offered on larger models such as the 40 Double Cabin. The Marine Trawler Owners Association began in 1990 as the Marine Trader Owners Association and took its present name in 2005, when half its members owned other makes.
