Nordic Tugs from our own listings first, then the wider market.
Nordic Tugs are built in Burlington, Washington. They are trawler yachts with a tug-style house on a yacht hull. Jerry Husted formed Nordic Tugs, Inc. in 1979, and naval architect Lynn Senour drew the boat: a semi-displacement hull meant to balance speed with fuel economy, under a profile modeled on the tugs of the 1930s. The first Nordic Tug 26 was shown at the 1980 Seattle International Boat Show, where 37 were sold.
Nordic Tugs can be run as fuel misers or with speedy performance, as the owner demands. The 26 was followed by a 32 in 1985, 37- and 42-footers in the 1990s and a 52 in 2003, and today's range runs from the NT26 to the NT54. Production moved from Woodinville to Burlington in 1990, and the hulls are laid up with stitch-mat fiberglass and vinylester resin.
