About Viking Yacht Company

Viking Yacht Company was founded in 1964, when brothers Bill and Bob Healey bought Peterson-Viking, a small builder of 37-foot wooden sportfishing boats on the Bass River in New Gretna, New Jersey. Viking introduced its first fiberglass model, a 33-footer, in the early 1970s and has delivered more than 5,500 boats since. It builds in New Gretna and at a second New Jersey plant, a former Ocean Yachts factory.

Viking builds about 90 percent of each yacht in-house. Engines, transmissions, air conditioning units and electronics are the main parts it buys, and two of its own subsidiaries, Atlantic Marine Electronics and Palm Beach Towers, handle electronics and tower work. The current lineup runs from 46 to 90 feet in seven series: Convertible, Enclosed Bridge, Sky Bridge, Open Express, Sport Coupe, Sport Tower and Billfish.
